What is Takway (Illonggo Food, Plant)?

Let us define the term.

Takway [noun] is an Illongo, one of the native langages in the Philipines, term for long and slender stolon or runner  of a particular variety of taro  that is locally known as dagmay.

It is considered as local vege and is usually cooked with coonut milk — the dish is called ginataang takway.

Taro is called gabi in Philippines, but not all varieties of gabi produce good and long takway as dagmay does. Dagmay often grow in swamp areas.
